I get far faster connection speeds with Google's DNS servers over my ISP's servers, but my ISP servers are poor. I'd get quite a few DNS issues using them, and the router they provide doesn't allow you to specify DNS servers at that level, so has to be done per device. Still worth trying and seeing if it improves things.
